ICR HAS MADE THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OF THE ATPA METHOD TO HYUNDAI ROTEM COMPANY.

ICR has completed the transfer of technology from the ATPA method to Hyundai Rotem Company in South Korea.

Technology transfer that, ICR performs its customers, is based on two phases: theoretical phase, where explains how the method, and practice phase where the acquired knowledge are tested in a real example.

In this case, it was first performed the practical part where we also introduced some theoretical knowledge.

These practical sessions were made on a unit train operated by the customer, providing engineers familiarizing with it.

In the theoretical part it was given a foundation of basic acoustics to introduce the basic concepts along with the knowledge of the ATPA method (Advanced Transfer Path Analysis).

ATPA method allows to establish relations connectivity between different surfaces (subsystems) for the routes of transmission of vibrations and noise. In this case, we have studied the transmission routes of a train that will reveal to customers exactly which part of the measured noise comes from each element of the train and to set priorities and design modifications. This knowledge means, in most cases, a considerable reduction of costs in the new model train.
